If nothing else, know that it has passed the test of time, and tons of coffee professionals still prefer the classic feel/pour of this kettle.

Besides this classic history, the Buono’s 1.2L capacity makes it the largest gooseneck kettle in this lineup. However, this size seems unnecessary for most home brewers, and I would recommend filling it way less than that to avoid over-boiling and making a mess anyway. I usually measure out 800ml of water, which is plenty for most pour-over recipes.

Note: You can opt for one of their smaller sizes, with options as small as 500ml.

I will say, compared to the feel of the other kettles here, the faster flow rate here takes the most getting used to. Especially when you fill up with a lot of water, it can be hard to control the pour until the kettle is emptier.

Bonavita Variable Temperature Gooseneck Electric Kettle: Runner-Up Electric Model

I owned this Bonavita Kettle for a few years, and while I don’t like the feel of the pour as much as the previous three kettles, it deserves to be on your radar. I would think of this kettle as a runner-up model to the fancier Fellow Stagg. It has a great display, 6 preset options to quickly toggle between different temperature categories, and plus/minus buttons to dial in the temperature to an exact degree.

When the kettle is off the base, you can also hit the plus button to begin a timer. My main complaint with this kettle is that the feel of the pour is not as smooth and controlled as the Fellow Stagg, which is why I eventually upgraded to it. Also, I should say that after a few years of owning this Bonavita kettle, the spout began to leak. To be fair, I traveled a lot with it (any other coffee geeks brew pour over coffee in their hotel rooms?) and probably knocked into the neck one too many times. Whatever happened, it lost a few points on durability for me.

This COSORI gooseneck pour over kettle has a ton of fantastic reviews and isn’t suspiciously cheap. I have not personally tested its weight distribution, but it does have a hold feature and five temperature presets. One downside would be that you cannot dial in a temperature to an exact degree.

Kalita Stainless Coffee Pot

Kalita is a specialty coffee company with tons of traction. While I love their Wave manual dripper, I personally would not go for this kettle. It has an old-school and minimalist design and stainless steel material, but the thin/tall design makes the heat-up time slow and, depending on your stove, can make the handle get quite hot!

Brewista Artisan

There’s no doubt that the Brewista Artisan is eye-catching, and they have tons of colors to choose from. My favorite would be this matte black with the wood handle/base. It seems to have decent reviews and is on the expensive side. My opinion? If you’re in this price category, it’s much better to just go with the Fellow Stagg instead.
